This course is an introduction to the science of computational linguistics. It also focuses on natural language editing tools and applications.
Upon successful completion of the course the students:
- will know the theoretical framework of the science of computational linguistics,
- will have acquired a general view of the structure of the language system,
- will understand the relationship of language with other subjects,
- will compile and process language data with electronic tools,
- will be able to analyze speech using a combination of electronic tools and data,
- will have developed knowledge acquisition skills necessary to pursue further studies with a high degree of autonomy,
- will be able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
