Angeliki Nikolinakou studied Communication and Mass Media at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She then pursued postgraduate studies in Communication Policy at City University of London in England. She has many years of professional experience in communication strategy, marketing and advertising. She worked in the Consumer Planning department of Diageo’s Marketing Division, with a focus on research and strategy for Diageo’s brands and the promotion of innovative products. She also held the position of Consumer Insights Manager for Johnnie Walker in Europe. She has worked at the Ministry of Migration & Asylum in positions involving promotion of the Ministry and management of its publicity. In 2015 she obtained her PhD in Mass Communication with a concentration in Advertising from Grady college of Journalism and Mass Communication of University of Georgia in the United States. She then worked as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the School of Media & Communication in the University of Southern Mississippi where she taught advertising related courses. She has also taught at the University of Georgia (USA) and the American College of Greece (Deree). Her research focuses on consumer behavior in new media and more specifically social media.
