CDM 8315

This course is an introduction to the science of computational linguistics. It also focuses on natural language editing tools and applications. 

Upon successful completion of the course the students: 

• will know the theoretical framework of the science of computational linguistics, 
• will have acquired a general view of the structure of the language system, 
• will understand the relationship of language with other subjects, 
• will compile and process language data with electronic tools, 
• will be able to analyze speech using a combination of electronic tools and data, 
• will have developed knowledge acquisition skills necessary to pursue further studies with a high degree of autonomy, 
• will be able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
